Durham Debating Success

Adam and Molly (Y12) won the Novice Schools final at the Durham Schools 24 Debating Competition organised by Durham University. After finding their feet in the early rounds of the competition they hit their stride in the semi-finals, before going in to a final alongside Fettes, RGS Newcastle, and Repton.The Durham School Debating Society meets weekly and is one of over 100 clubs and societies open to pupils studying at Durham School. The society is pupil-led and works with staff from the English Department in honing skills in oral and written communication, critical thinking, research, and public speaking. |
