The opportunity of performing in front of a large audience is just one of the many ways Durham School instils confidence for life. Our House Music competition is a whole School event, involving every Senior School student voice from the smallest, shiest Y7s , to the loudest and most confident Sixth Formers.The Festival is held every academic year with performances every second year in front of sell out audiences at Sage, Gateshead. This year we have moved the Festival from Durham School Chapel to Durham Cathedral to allow more parents and friends of the School to enjoy the performances.
While it is strictly speaking a competition, with an external adjudicator picking the best in several categories, above all it is a celebration of musical talent and an uplifting tribute to the power of music in bringing our school community together. We do hope you will be able to join us.
